In the bottom left corner is the Water Tower built to replace the original from the Massey Agricultural College era, and the neighbouring tank serving as a reservoir.

The student residences of Walter Dyer Hall, Craiglockhart and Bindaloe are in the bottom right corner, as is the area where Moginie Village will eventually be located. 

At the top edge are the four Court Hostels - Rotary, Kairanga, Egmont and City - and the Wool Building.

At the bottom of the image are the old Main Building, the Registry Building, the Social Sciences Complex, Wharerata (the latter diagonally in front of the Social Sciences Complex), and the Bernard Chambers Building.

Directly to the left of the Main Building is the now abandoned Massey Agricultural College Swimming Pool, which will eventually be demolished and replaced by a carpark. Behind it are the Old Hostel, Refectory and McHardy Hall, while to the right of the latter is Tiritea House and behind the Main Building is the old Registry Building.

The Science Towers (note the fourth tower nearing completion) are in the centre of the image, with the Student Centre and Library in front, and Colombo Hall and the Riddet Complex behind.

Behind McHardy Hall are the Rehab Hostels and Young Farmers' Club Memorial Hostel, while the Veterinary Sciences Complex stands to the right of the Science Towers.

Next door to the Riddet Complex, on the right, are Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences Buildings A and B, the Agricultural Engineering Building, and the Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences Lecture Theatre Building.

The Boiler House is in the right edge of the image, directly opposite the Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences Buildings (on the other side of University Avenue, the ring road).
