Humorous poem titled Lament of the Maidens, written following a dinner attended by women residents of Moginie House and second-year degree students in September 1957. Written from the perspective of the Moginie House residents, the poem humorously recounts an evening of songs, haka, dancing, and socialising that culminated in the visitors' departure after midnight. Women residing in Moginie House were horticulture diploma students who shared a number of botany field trips with degree students.
