Satellite

Satellite was the Auckland campus student newspaper and was published from 1995 to 2011. It was initially produced by the Albany branch of the Massey University Students' Association (MUSA). A separate Albany Students' Association was formed in 1999 and then took over publication of the magazine from MUSA.

The first issues of Satellite appeared in April 1995 in a tabloid format. In 1996 and 1997 it was published in a magazine format. For 1998 and 1999 Satellite was published as an insert for the Shore News – a local community paper. An additional “on campus” issue was produced from August 1999. In 2000, Satellite again became an independent publication in a magazine format.

Satellite was replaced in 2012 by the university-wide student publication, Massive, when the students' associations of the three campuses decided to combine their respective publications into one publication..
