This is the programme for the Annual Sports day of the Ashburton County Polo Club, held on Wednesday 11 April 1894. The first race, The Cigar and Umbrella Race, began at 2pm and was followed by: Ashburton County Polo Club Cup, Bending Competition, Tandem Race, Hurdle Race, Ladies' Bracelet, and Costume Race. The day ended with the Farewell Handicap (open to all ponies except the winners of the Cup and Hurdles). All riders had to be a Member or Honourable Member of a Polo Club affiliated to the New Zealand Polo Association.
