Herbert "Bert" Mosen at Papahaua Station, with his "Muff" dogs and a huntaway. The "muff" dogs were so named after Bert Mosen's original working dog Muff which appears to have been a long-haired border collie. Muff dogs were in big demand by livestock farmers as the line was particularly good. Papahau Station is bounded by the Parapara Road and the Matahiwi Track on the road to Raetihi.
