Orientation handbook

This handbook provides a guide to events during orientation and information on services offered by the Massey University Students' Association and also general information on student life at Massey University and about Palmerston North.

As looking at the titles of the issues in this collection will show, the publication has gone through various name changes, including, Freshers’ Handbook  (from c.1962-c.1964);  Orientation Handbook  (c.1965-1986); Orientation Magazine (1987-1990); MUSA Handbook and Orientation Guide (1991); Chaff Handbook (1992); Orientation (1994-2003) and so on.

In 1992 the guide was split into two publications – an orientation programme that provided information on the events and a handbook for first year students which provided information on MUSA and university life. Occasionally these were combined again into a single publication (for example in 1995 and 2005).

Our holdings range from 1953 to 2009, but are incomplete. All issues we hold are available online.
