First factory in Mr Wheeler's paddock. The factory can be seen in the background among dead and dying trees, The factory is very small with Mr Wheeler's house behind it. Both are made of timber with corrugated iron roofs. There are 3 cattle in the picture.

In a pond in the foreground is a young lady riding side-saddle. The horse has all four feet in the shallow pond. She is carrying a quirt.

Although the photographs were labelled Tararua Co-operative Dairy Company they were in fact taken at the Ballance Co-operative Dairy Company factory. Tararua Co-operative Dairy Company was not in existence at this time.
